RAR HISTORY – BIBLIOGRAPHY

RARA OBJECTIVE - FOSTER AND DEVELOP THE REGIMENT’S HISTORY

PURPOSE

To keep alive the published and unpublished history of the Regiment and its units by developing a bibliography of all recorded writings, films, photographs, interviews etc and through appropriate parties locate them into a central registry for access for historical research.

TASKS

1. To establish a Regimental bibliography of publications (all types).

2. To seek contributions of unpublished diaries and papers.

3. To seek to establish a Central Registry of publications within the Blamey Memorial Library at Enoggera or other appropriate location.

RESPONSIBILITY

The RAR Corporation delegated the task to the RARA National Secretariat through an appointed RARA Registrar and voluntary Team supported by all RAR Associations and RAR servicemen (past and present and their families).

PROGRESS

Substantial ground work on the RAR Bibliography has already been completed by Terry Dinneen with over 500 publications identified, categorised and entered into the Bibliography Register. It can be seen on the RARA website. Lt Col Russell Linwood ASM has accepted the appointment of the RAR History Bibliography Registrar. Russell is now a Standby Reservist with a very strong RAR service background having served in 1 RAR, 5/7 RAR and The Infantry Centre and as a military history researcher and published author. Many of you will know of Russell and his outstanding research ability.

Russell will distribute a revised business plan in early January 2017. We'll keep you up to date.
