Often wondered how they coped
These brave medics of the time.
Always ready to give aid,
To wounded soldiers in the line.
Despite the threat of injury,
From incoming fire
The cry of 'MEDIC' sent them forth
To the places least desired.
Disregarding shots from snipers
They treated wounded men.
The likes of soldiers just like them.
Will not be seen again.
A young Clive Scragg was such a man.
He served his soldiers well.
Once did his time in the front line
And saw his share of hell.
You must admire men like this.
I know what they went through.
There was no place they wouldn't go.
Or anything they couldn't do.
These angels with the first aid kit.
Men with ice within their blood.
Diggers we still look up to,
And who we're so proud of!
